Volker Barber studied piano with
Munich University Masterclass student Hildegard Stenda and at
Peter Cornelius Conservatory, and studied at Berklee College of
Music correspondence course and extensions at UCLA. With the
Hired Help Band he won the German Academy Award Echo (equal to a
Grammy), and then joined German top chart MOR Rockband Tokyo,
opening for Meatloaf on his European tour. He also toured as
keyboardist internationally with Jennifer Rush. He can be heard
on hundreds of productions, working with artists such as Terence
Trent D'Arby, Milli Vanilli, Rob & Fab, Boney M, Meatloaf,
and Debbie Bonham.
His TV credits include the theme songs for the Julius Caesar TV
series, and the Oliver Kahn TV show, he also contributed hours
of music to over 170 Episodes of the ongoing German TV series
Verrückt nach Meer, and Verrückt nach Fluss. His music can be
heard on over 300 syndicated radio shows for Dove, Ferrari,
Bayer, Shell, and he wrote music for Head, Adidas, Fresenius,
Thomas Cook, Novartis and many others. On TV, his music appears
regularly on NBC, FOX Sports, National Geographic, Animal
Planet, MBL, German channels ARD, RTL, ZDF, as well as on
Chinese CCTV, and other Asian networks.
